Ingredients for Chilli French Fries:
Frozen French Fries – 2 cups
Capsicum (deseeded) – ½ cup
Carrot (cut it in to coin shapes) – ½ cup
Onion (cut in to squares) – ½ cup
Garlic cloves (crushed) – 2 (medium sized)
Scallions (spring onion bulbs diced – 2 tbsp.
Light Soya Sauce – 1/2 to 1 tbsp.
Chilly Sauce – 1 tbsp.
Chilly Powder – 1 tsp.
Cumin Powder (optional) – 1/8 tsp.
Ajinomotto (optional) – 1 pinch
Salt – to taste
Pepper powder – ¼ tsp.
Olive Oil or vegetable oil – 2 tbsp.
How to Make Chilli Potato Fries:
Bake fries in the oven as directed on the package. Cut veggies as said above and keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add garlic and sauté on medium high flame. Add vegetables in sequence of their tenderness. Then add onion and sauté till onion gets translucent. Now add capsicum and sauté for another two minutes. Add carrot and sauté for few minutes. Add ajino motto, salt and pepper. Toss it.
Add Soya sauce and Chilli Sauce. Mix well. Cook for ½ minute. Add the baked French fries and toss the contents till it’s well combined. Remove from fire.
Garnish with spring onion greens. The delightful Chiily Frites is ready to serve. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup, pili pili sauce or mayonnaise.
My Recipe Notes on Spicy French Fries:
1. You can even use homemade French fries.
2. You can try this recipe with Sweet Potato too.
3. Cook it a little longer if you want it crispy.
4. Be careful while adding salt, as ajinomotto or MSG and soya sauce are salty ingredients.
5. I don’t advice using MSG (I didn’t use it here) since I am a health conscious person. (MSG – Mono Sodium Glutamate).
