OMG, Avocado, I love it.. And my husband hates it.. . He is not that fan of avocado!!  I have always been fond of Avocados; I love its creamy texture. Hmm, this recipe is for the avocado lovers, all avocado haters can turn away their heads from this!!

It`s winter time here in Kinshasa. After the long cold winter, I don’t think sunny warm days will be sticking around anytime soon. It made me look for something I crave for.. For me, this is one of the top tasty appetizers. It will definitely appeal to vegetarians as well as non-vegetarians since it’s a fruit.
I never wanted to eat the whole of one Avocado in one sitting, but I can’t believe it now; I finished off the whole thing in a single sitting!!

Avocados, also known as Bread Fruit or Alligator Pear because of it`s shape, green skin and rough outer texture, are a good source of fibre, Vitamin C, K, B 6, folate, Potassium. It provides us with unique health benefits precisely because of its unusual fat content and so it enables our body to absorb fat-soluble nutrients such as alpha and beta carotene more easily.

Preparation time – 5 minutes.

Servings – 1 or 2
Calories: 322 / 1 medium Avocado

Ingredients for Avocado in Mixed Herbs:
Avocado (ripe) – 1
Salt – 1 ½ tsp.
Light Soy Sauce – ¼ tbsp.
Dark Soy Sauce – ¼ tbsp.
Lemon Juice – ¾ th tbsp.
Black Pepper (freshly ground) – ½ tsp.
Paprika – a pinch
Mixed Herbs – ¼ tsp.
Olive Oil – 1 ½ tbsp.
Chilly flakes (crushed) – ¼ tsp.
How to Make Avocado in Mixed Herbs

Begin by cutting avocado in half lengthwise with a sharp knife. Strip off skin of each slice. Cut each slice width wise. Place it on a plate.

Now do the tangy and zesty dressing for this:

Take a small bowl, mix in all seasoning herbs and other ingredients such as salt, light and dark soya sauce, lemon juice, black pepper and paprika. Pour this dressing on the top of avocado. Drizzle Olive oil to it. Serve it.

Now all you have to do is to enjoy this simple colourful avocado.

My Recipe Notes on Mixed Herbs Avocado & Some Avocado Tips:
1.Always cut avocados just before using it since they brown quickly once they cut. Squeeze a bit of lemon juice on the exposed flesh and then refrigerate in a plastic bag to preserve its nice green colour and to prevent it from browning.
2.Whatever the herbs you have on your hand use it. It’s up to your choice and preference.
3.The best way to remove the pit from avocado is to first slice avocado in half lengthwise and firmly strike the pit with your knife till it lodges a few millimeters in to the pit. Now slowly twist the pit to dislodge it and then lift it out. 
4.If you have excess ripe avocados, you can preserve it for later use by blending it and freezing it immediately.
5.Refrigeration of unripe avocados halts the ripening process. You can keep the avocados on the counter for finishing the ripening process.
