Ethapazham Varattiyathu / Ghee Roasted Bananas

Ethapazham Varattiyathu / Ghee Roasted Bananas

Ethapazham Varattiyathu / Ghee Roasted Banana.

Ghee Roasted Banana
s is a very simple dish which we can have as an evening snack, an appetizer or as a breakfast dish. It’s very popular in our place and both adults and kids can relish it. It’s my hubby’s favourite appetizer. So I have deliberately overdone it as he likes it that way.

Hey Bachelors, this roasted bananas are meant for you! It doesn’t need more that 5 minutes to prepare and arrange it on your plate. Hope you will try out this without fail.

This recipe I am posting after a short while..  Being a teacher, I have been busy these days with school year ending Academic works.. I enjoy doing all these works..  To be frank, it’s fun too.

Bananas in any form, whether it’s fried, deep fried, baked or steamed is very good for kids. It’s an excellent source of fibre, Potassium, Manganese, Vitamin B and C. It relieves morning sickness. It is even good for diabetes and eye problems.

Pictures I am posting today are the ones I have taken on different days.. One day I have garnished it with white sugar and the other day I have done it with white sesame seeds.. But the procedure used is the same.

Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Total Time required: 10 minutes
Serves - 1

So here goes the recipe of ghee roasted bananas.

Ripe sweet Banana – 1
Ghee - 1 ½ tbsp. or as you needed
Sugar – as needed
Cardamom Powder – 1 pinch

How I made:

Slice the banana length wise or in ½ inch rounds.
Take a non-stick pan. Heat ghee in it.
Shallow fry the banana pieces for five minutes until the external layer is golden brown on each side.
Sprinkle cardamom and saute it once again.
Garnish it by sprinkling white sugar or white sesame seeds.
Serve it with a cup of hot tea.

My recipe Notes on Ethapazham Varattiyathu:

Use only ripe bananas to get the real taste.
Adding cashew nuts and raisins while frying banana will give an excellent taste.
You can sprinkle little grated coconut while frying or to garnish it.

Serve it..
